Sealed Proposals for the Construction of Inert Waste Cell No. 2 & Initial Sediment Pond B, McDuffie County Solid Waste Disposal Facility will be received at the offices of the McDuffie County Board of Commissioners, 210 Railroad Street, Thomson, Georgia 30824 until 4:00 p.m. legal prevailing time on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at which time they will be opened and read aloud. Absolutely, no bids will be accepted after 4:00 p.m. All bids must be sealed and clearly marked “Construction of Inert Waste Cell No. 2 & Sediment Pond B” and submitted to the attention of Mr. David Crawley, County Manager. No bid may be withdrawn after the closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) calendar days. THERE WILL BE A MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE ON MONDAY, MAY 15, 2023 AT 2:00 P.M. AT THE McDUFFIE COUNTY SOLID WASTE FACILITY SCALE HOUSE OFFICE, 514 TANKERSLEY ROAD, THOMSON, GEORGIA 30824.
The Work to be done consists of furnishing all materials and equipment and performing all labor necessary for the Construction of Inert Waste Cell No. 2 & Initial Sediment Pond B, McDuffie County Solid Waste Facility consisting of grading for compacted cell subgrade, perimeter access roads, drainage ditches, sediment pond and stormwater piping.
Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents may be obtained from Innovative Engineering Strategies, LLC, P.O. Box 560, Smarr, Georgia, 31086, (478) 365-8609, upon payment of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each full-size hard copy set or One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for a PDF digital set; NON-REFUNDABLE. A copy of your check is needed to ship the documents. You can e-mail a scanned copy of the check to mbiers@ie-strategies.com.
Bonds: All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid Amount. The Successful Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount.
The surety company on the contract performance bond shall be a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Georgia. Said bond and surety shall be subject to approval by the attorney for the OWNER.
Payment of the Contract amount will be made on a periodic basis on applications for payment from the contractor and approved by the engineer based on work accomplished, products furnished and products stored at the site. Such progress payment requests shall be submitted by the contractor no later than the 25th day of each month during the term of the Contract and shall be paid by the Owner within thirty (30) days after receipt of approved progress payment requests, less the retainage and other deductions provided in the Contract Documents. Further details concerning the payment provisions of the Contract are contained in Section 15 of the General Conditions of the Contract Documents.
Owner's Right: The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to rebid.
