2022 Millage Rate

NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

The McDuffie County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a 2022 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 5.54% percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at Thomson-McDuffie Government Center on September 1, 2022 at 6:30 PM.

Times and places of additional public hearing on this tax increase are at the Thomson-McDuffie County Government Center, Administration Building, 210 Railroad Street, Thomson, GA on August 25, 2022 at 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM, and September 1, 2022 at 6:30 PM.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 7.809 mills, an increase of 0.41 mills.  Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 7.399 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000.00 is approximately $15.00.  The proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $300,000.00 is approximately $49.00.
