Probate Clerk

Full Time

The McDuffie County Board of Commissioners is accepting application for a Probate Clerk in Probate Court Office.

This position records, indexes and maintains files for Probate Court documents.  Greets and assists the public by providing applications and other forms for licenses and certificates.  Receives fees and fines for the court and maintains a bookkeeping system.  Assists the Judge of Probate Court in preparation for and during traffic court by preparing forms, histories and recording court proceedings.  

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Years legal or law enforcement training
  • One year general office experience involving record keeping and dealing with the general public
  • Preferred:  One year as a legal secretary or similar position
